Diabetes Assessment and Complication Screening Programme

This is a 2-visit comprehensive programme to assess your diabetes control and screen for complications. The first visit involves consultations with the Endocrinologist, Ophthalmologist and Podiatrist and a series of examinations and laboratory investigations using a full range of advanced equipment. The second visit includes consultations with the Endocrinologist to discuss the report and the Dietitian and the Diabetes Nurse Specialist for eating advice and training in diabetes care.

	Fasting Lipid Profile: Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL Cholesterol and LDL Cholesterol
	Thyroid Function: TSH
	Urine for routine analysis and microalbumin
Screening for Heart Disease
	Heart Disease Risk Factor Analysis
	Treadmill Stress Test
Assessment of Diabetes Control
	Evaluation of home blood glucose monitoring Record
	Review of hypoglycaemic events
	Review of HbA1c result
Screening for Eye Problem
	Complete eye examination by an ophthalmologist
Screening for Foot Problem
	General foot examination by a podiatrist
	Doppler ultrasound examination of foot circulation
	10g monofilament test of foot sensation
	Vibration Perception Threshold
Screening for Kidney Problem
	Creatinine level and urine microalbumin
	24 hour Urine Total Protein and Creatinine Clearance (at Physician's discretion)
