About Us
The vision of the Department of Pathology is to become one of the leading pathology laboratories in Hong Kong. Our aim is to provide clinicians, patients and the general public with comprehensive, advanced and state-of-the-art pathology service in Hong Kong and the neighbouring regions. We are committed to quality and efficiency, and through participation in external proficiency programmes we strive to ensure that our test results are accurate, precise and useful for clinical practice.

The Team
Our personnel are well-qualified and continuously trained to ensure that they are up-to-date with current developments and advances in the industry. They are multi-skilled yet able to handle the most specialized tests with top-level sophistication.

  Our Service
  The Department of Pathology has 4 laboratories – Clinical Pathology Laboratory, Histopathology Laboratory, Molecular Pathology Laboratory and Sleep Laboratory, performing approximately half a million tests per year.
  
  The laboratories open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week to meet all testing needs.

• Facilities
  Our laboratory facilities and equipment are modern and comply with all industrial safety requirements. Assays for more than 350 different analytes can be performed.
  
  
• Education & Training
  The Department is an accredited programme provider of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of the Hong Kong Medical Laboratory Technologists Board, Department of Health. We provide training and a summer placement programme for medical and nursing students.
